THE DEEPFAKE NIGHTMARE HITTING SOUTH KOREA: AI, TELEGRAM, AND THE CRISIS NO ONE CAN…

Week 1, day 3: AI and ethics
Students collaborated to make a fake news website, to demonstrate the fragility of the current media landscape and how easy it is for AI bots to spread fake news. This was set against interviewing an industry professional and studying AI ethics, and they applied the six ethical lenses to what they had written, learning how a true fact becomes a misleading headline by writing the misleading headline themselves. Read against the reported articles on the news desk, the distance between them is the lesson. Everything here is labelled as satire.

Every technique on this page, named
Headlines tease without revealing (":..." cuts off the ending to force a click)
Every headline shouts in uppercase. LOUD = IMPORTANT in tabloid law
Headline words: NIGHTMARE, CRISIS, SCANDAL, HORROR. Emotional stakes hit first
Right-rail overload: stacked images + more headlines. Eye bounces endlessly
Lead story HUGE. Secondary shrink down. Hierarchy = psychology. Biggest = most important
Why this matters: Attention is currency. These techniques work because they exploit how human brains are wired to notice threat, novelty, and unfinished information. This desk uses them honestly, to teach them. The student columns underneath dissect real AI ethics crises. You're inside the machine.
