You are pitching to Seoul Expo 2026 Partners, Inc. Your trailer is locked: picture cut, beats timed, now silent. The studio screens it for client sign-off tomorrow morning. Tonight you become the voice that sells it — script, direction, takes, and final track laid to frame. Your work is graded against the rubric below. Ship or fail to ship.

Mission

Produce a 60-90 second voiceover track where every line lands on its shot and makes a cold listener lean in — a promise that sells the film. Record one line in your own voice and embed it at the moment of highest emotional leverage.

  • Head Writer

    Own the script and the act structure — every line earns its beat.

    • Produce a beat-map table: beat-label (cold-open / setup / escalation / stakes / button) | script-line | duration-seconds | function (what this line does to the promise). Every line appears exactly once; no line is filler.
    • Defend the difference between cold-open and stakes lines in writing (≤3 sentences): if they read the same risk/emotional tone, one dies. Provide the cut version to the director.
  • Voice Director

    Own the read and the ElevenLabs takes — direction is what you hear, not what you type.

    • Pick a voice and write one sentence defending it: 'This voice fits this film because [specific emotional/tonal reason], not [the alternative you rejected].' Example: 'Husky and intimate because the stakes are personal betrayal, not spectacle.'
    • Generate two takes per beat using inline direction tags ([pause], [whispers], [shouts], [stutter], [breath]) embedded in the script you receive from the Head Writer. Generate at least one alternate take for the stakes beat.
  • Track Editor

    Own timing and the final cut — frame-accuracy is non-negotiable.

    • Place the START of each line so the first stressed word lands on its intended shot. If a line spans two shots, the first word hits the primary shot. Confirm by scrubbing frame-by-frame to the title reveal and verifying the landing word has not drifted.
    • Hold the track inside 60-90 seconds with intentional silences only: pauses placed between beats (2–4 frames each, labelled by beat-pair: setup→escalation pause = 3 frames). Test silence placement: watch the cut with sound muted and confirm picture reads without relying on VO.
  • Producer (peer feedback)

    Does the room want to watch the film?

    • Before export, screen the track for a peer outside the production team. Ask: 'Did the voiceover make you curious about this film?' If yes, note why. If no, the writer and director diagnose the failure (promise too vague, voice doesn't match, pacing rushed) and iterate once.
    • Record the peer feedback and provide it with the master track for grading context.
