Week 1, day 2: AI, jobs and automation

Reporting the AI story straight.

Students applied research, interviewing and newsroom teamwork to report on AI and the future of work, drawing on real interviews with the week’s guest speakers. Each team worked to a role (editor, researcher, writer, web developer) and was marked on evidence of human judgement an AI could not have supplied: the questions asked, the sources chosen, the lines cut. Every article is published as its team filed it. These were written first: the class then collaborated to make a fake news website, which sits on the clickbait desk.

About This Newsroom

This is a student newsroom created during Week 1 Day 2 of the AI Seoul cohort at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Twelve teams of students researched, interviewed sources, and wrote original articles on the topic of AI, Jobs & Automation in a single day.

The articles reflect genuine research, real interviews with guest speakers, and authentic student voices. Each team produced one complete article using AI as a tool, not a replacement for reporting.

How this newsroom was built: Students were given sources, a framework, and access to Claude to help structure their reporting. The ideas, interviews, and conclusions are entirely their own.
